Since 2010, our Ashtanga yoga teacher training program has trained yoga lovers from all around the world and certified hundreds of them to teach yoga classes with safety and confidence. Our Yoga training supports students in deepening their understanding and relationship to the practice by studying the magic ingredients of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga as taught by Patthabi Joi: breath, bandhas and dristi. With comprehensive methods to make the practice accessible and appropriate, our approach is modern, therapeutic, challenging, supportive and stepped in tradition.
The course is set upon the sequence of the Ashtanga Primary Series (Yoga Chikitsa) and the creative flow found in the Vinyasa Flow style of asana practice (eg. Rocket Yoga Vinyasa). While the traditional Ashtanga Primary series lays a strong foundation for the students, they will also learn from various other yoga styles on which to draw from in developing and sequencing a Vinyasa Flow class. In these styles, asana are practiced using breath, dristi (gaze) and bandhas (inner energy locks). By the end of the course, students will be able to teach with confidence the Ashtanga primary series as well as creating their own Vinyasa Flow sequences.
From Day 1, the course will lead the students through the proper techniques including key alignments, modifications, variations, contraindications, use of basic yoga props as well as the art of adjustment techniques, teaching methodology and practice teaching.
As the foundation of the Ashtanga Yoga Vinyasa primary series is established, principles of sequencing will be taught so that students can create a Vinyasa Yoga flow class according to the needs of their own students or class. In addition to the Yang practice of Ashtanga and to balance it, we will incorporate other styles of yoga such as Yin Yoga to provide the students a broader horizon of yoga styles and enhance their knowledge in general. Thai Yoga massage will also be introduced to become comfortable touching appropriately and adjusting safely your future students.
We will also share our strong expertise on the business or Yoga about marketing, pricing, teaching group or private classes, and setting up your own yoga school.
